A Collaboration of Art, Jewellery & Friendship

As summer fades and a new season begins, we took a moment to introduce MANPRIYA Jewellery to a new circle of friends. This time, we celebrate not just jewels but the philosophy that defines the brand.

In collaboration with Art collector, Patron, and Philanthropist Maria Sukkar, we hosted an exclusive event at the Saatchi Yates Gallery in London, around the theme of ‘Humans of Imperfections.’ With every new season comes a time to reflect on the past, present, and future, and this gathering was no different.

Alongside a private viewing of the latest MANPRIYA collection, Founder Manpriya Bath and Maria Sukkar engaged in an intimate conversation about their personal journeys—both grappling with the concept of perfection and how embracing imperfection has shaped their lives. “I’m a recovering perfectionist,” Sukkar candidly shared. For much of her life, she pursued an unattainable standard, but eventually realised that letting go, being kind to oneself, and embracing achievable possibilities was a more fulfilling way to live.

For Manpriya “The idea of perfection is a farcical fantasy that distracts us from being present. Over years of self-reflection I have come to realise that surrendering to who we are is the answer to happiness. I celebrate the process; the marvellous unfinishedness of life, with all its ebbs and flows. We are all souls of imperfection.” she says.

Both Manpriya and Maria have spent years collecting objects that inspire and speak to their developed sense of taste and aesthetics. And as a fun end to the morning, we put them through a rapid round of questions on the art of collecting and how their love for art and jewellery, while seemingly opposites, beautifully attracts.
