Love, Light & Sparkle

Diwali brings with it the excitement of new beginnings, a time to reconnect with family traditions and celebrate the joy of togetherness. Much like New Year, it’s a moment for reflection, joy, and, of course, dressing up! Buying gold is particularly auspicious during this season, and jewellery naturally becomes a go-to for marking the occasion. Manpriya loves to indulge in something special at this time—a piece that speaks to heritage, love, and a deep connection to her roots.

This Diwali, Manpriya takes us into her personal jewellery box – a cherished collection of heirlooms, each holding a unique story and a cherished place in her heart.

The Square Pendant

“This square pendant is the piece I wear the most. It was my first jadau piece, designed by my mum, with a unique rectangular shape inspired by Mughal jewelled belt buckles. When I got engaged, my husband bought it from her, and it became my engagement gift. It’s sleek, elegant, and easy to wear, blending traditional craftsmanship with a modern touch. I often wear it in London, threaded onto a thick gold rope chain—it’s the perfect mix of classic artistry and contemporary design.”

Hasli Necklace

“This Hasli is my most treasured piece—a torque or choker in the West. My parents gave it to me for my wedding, and I wore it at my reception along with three huge necklaces, earrings, and a tikka—true Indian maximalism! But even on its own, it’s a stunning, classic design. I can already see myself wearing it as I grow older, though I know it’ll be hard to decide which child to pass it on to.”

Parrot Hasli

“This Parrot Hasli is special because my dad designed it. The shape is unusual, and it sits perfectly on my neck. The enamel wraps all around, not just at the back like most kundan or jadau pieces, and even after 25 years, the colors are still so vibrant. The craftsmanship is incredible—I’ve been in the jewellery business for over 30 years, and I’ve never come across anything like it. Every time I wear it, I’m reminded of my father, his passion for high-quality jewellery, and, of course, his enduring love for me.”

Parrot Bangles

“These Parrot bangles are part of the same set as my Hasli. I love wearing them over my shirt cuffs, especially in the winter or over the cozy jumper cuffs. They’re whimsical and fun, and the bird designs always remind me of my parents’ love and blessings. I really appreciate the 3D design and how the birds are positioned—it’s such a charming detail!”

Karan Phool Jhumkas

“I love wearing my Karan Phool jhumkas during Indian festivals, especially with traditional outfits. There’s something about them that connects me to my roots. The style, called Karanphool, means ‘flower of the ear.’ They’re bold enough to make a statement on their own—when I wear these, I really don’t need anything else! My jhumkas sparkle and come to life with every move I make. I remember one Diwali when I wore them, and my husband joked that I looked like I was ready for a Bollywood premiere. I took that as a compliment and twirled my way through the evening!”
